The poinsettia 13 cm pot (Euphorbia pulcherrima), also called Advent star, Christmas star or poinsettia, belongs to the spurge family. Its homeland is Mexico, where it grows on the plateau between shrubs and bushes. A bright, preferably sunny location is ideal. Partial shade is tolerated as long as the temperature is not too high. During flowering the temperature should be between 15°C and 22°C. If temperatures are too high and there is too little light - Euphorbia prefers tropical sun - the plant gets yellow leaves. The poinsettia only needs a little water. The substrate should only be slightly moist. Fertilize once or twice a week with a complete fertilizer during flowering and plant growth.
