Amaryllis Popov
With its interesting colors, the Amaryllis Popov creates a very special atmosphere in the run-up to Christmas. Whether in a vase or as an arrangement on a table with amaryllis, there are no decorative limits.
Look
The amaryllis (also knight's star, bot. Hippeastrum) is from the amaryllis family. It is a bulbous plant with large flowers and long, straight leaves. Its large calyxes are its biggest character feature. The flowers of the Amaryllis Popov are funnel-shaped and bright red with white stripes radiating from the center of the flower. The stem of the amaryllis is hollow.
Design tips
Amaryllis are particularly popular for floor vases. The cut flowers can be ideally combined with winter accessories such as fir green or silk pine. The cut flower is also often used for tied bouquets or arrangements. You have the opportunity to incorporate additional materials. You can use Christmas balls, pine cones or cinnamon rolls for this. In this way you can conjure up a modern winter bouquet that is suitable for the Advent season. Excellent as a Christmas decoration, as a gift for Christmas or as a decoration in the office.
Care
Cut the cut flowers straight with a sharp knife. To avoid the stem from unattractively rolling up, you can cover it with adhesive tape above the cut point.
Place the amaryllis in the water at least 15 cm deep.
Change the water regularly to ensure a long life.
The temperature at your location should not exceed 20 degrees. Amaryllis should therefore not be placed directly next to a heater.
To prevent the stem from bending under the weight of the emerging flower, you can push stakes into the hollow stem. This ensures stability.
The stamens can be removed with tweezers to avoid pollen stains.
