Tulips Columbus (Double)
Tulips bring spring into the home. The double tulip "Columbus" promises fresh colors and is therefore a successful spring flower.
Look
The "Columbus" is a double tulip with a pink color. The strong pink is successfully framed by the cream-colored edges. In contrast to the wild tulip, the double tulip is characterized by the fact that its flower opens quickly and then remains in a graceful upright position. A graceful posture, decorative bracts and an iconic flower: the "Columbus" meets all the expectations that one associates with tulips.
Design tips
The special coloring of the "Columbus" is best highlighted by combining it with other colors of the red-pink-pink spectrum, especially if it is a message of love. Otherwise, all other strong spring colors are also suitable. For example, colors like yellow not only create variety - they also emphasize the pink nuances. Whether with other tulips or alone – when it comes to cut flowers, the tulip likes to keep to itself. Green accessories from the season, on the other hand, can be used as a binding green.
Care
- Cut the stem straight with a knife, as tulips naturally have a very high water absorption capacity and otherwise they would grow back too quickly.
- Fill the water container up to a maximum of a third and check it daily, preferably in the morning and evening, and refill it if necessary.
- It is best to cut off all leaves except for the last bract, but especially the lower part.
- Avoid proximity to radiators, drafts and strong sunlight.
- Glass vases not only complement the aesthetics: their shape influences the bending behavior of the individual stems.
