Despite the extensive range of yellow cut flowers, this lily is one of a few varieties whose properties are hard to beat. Probably the most important feature of the lily is its elegant appearance, for which it is highly valued in floristry.
Look
The lily is an exotic masterpiece of nature. There are now well over 100 species distributed all over the globe. What sets lilies apart for floristry is their diversity, their balanced and special shapes and designs, their color spectrums, their luminosity and, last but not least, their grace and elegance. It's hard to miss that this lily encompasses all of these aspects. Its flower consists of six bright yellow and powerfully shining petals, all of which harmoniously match the color of the inflorescence. It is very long and decorated with delicate leaves that are shaped similarly to the flower bracts.
Design tips
Lilies are often made into beautiful bouquets. They look at least as beautiful in a vase. The great coloring of this cut flower fits very well into different themes or can also be presented on its own in a bunch of several of its variety. Beautiful bouquets can be, for example, those in a “beige-yellow-cream-white”, “yellow-violet”, “summer colors” or “sunset” theme. The almost best binding green for many of the options are, for example, Chamaerops, Solidago, Ruscus or Star White. Hypericum is available in great colors such as cream and is also suitable as an additional detail in any lily arrangement.
Care
- Cut the stem diagonally after transport. Also remove the leaves of the lower third by stripping them to prevent rot.
- The vase should be freshly cleaned and placed in a place that provides sufficient daylight, does not accumulate heat and is not exposed to direct sunlight.
- Keep the water fresh and replace it daily, preferably enriched with fresh flowers.
- The pollen vessels can be removed after the flowers have opened if desired. This is particularly recommended in households with animals, as the pollen can be slightly toxic depending on the variety.
